This page explains what information YourVerse.Today collects and how it is used. In short: we do not run analytics, we do not track you, and we do not collect any personal information.
Information We Collect
We do not require an account and we do not collect personal information such as your name, email address, or IP address. The only data we handle is stored on your own device, described below.
Cookies
We use a small number of cookies to keep the website working, which we rely on for the language-switching feature described next.
Language Preference Cookie
When you choose a language (English, Bangla, or Hindi), we save your choice in a cookie named app_lang so that the site can show you that language on your next visit. Without this cookie the site falls back to detecting a language from your browser settings. You can clear this cookie at any time from your browser settings.
Local Storage
We use your browser’s local storage to remember small things on your device:
- Your theme choice (light or dark).
- Which words you have marked as “learned” (your learning progress).
- A marker used to hide the “Install app” prompt while your device is running in app mode.
This information never leaves your device and is never sent to us or to any third party.
Audio
When you play a verse recitation or a single word’s audio, your browser streams the audio file directly from the audio provider (Quran.com). We do not record, store, or transmit any audio you play.
Analytics
We do not use analytics tools, tracking scripts, or advertising. We have no way of knowing how many people visit the site, and we prefer it that way.
Third-Party Services
The Quranic text, word-by-word data and audio recitations are served by the open Quran.com API. When your browser requests a verse or an audio clip, it connects to Quran.com to download the content. We send no personal information to these services.
How We Use Information
Because we collect almost nothing, there is little to describe: the local storage items above are used only to make the website remember your preferences and progress on your device.
Data Retention
Everything we store on your device stays there until you clear your browser’s site data or remove the app. We do not keep any data on our servers.
Your Choices
You can clear cookies and local storage at any time through your browser settings. Doing so may reset your theme choice and learning progress, and the site will continue to work normally otherwise.
Children’s Privacy
This website does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. Because no personal data is collected or stored by us, there is nothing extra that requires your consent on behalf of a child.
Changes to This Privacy Policy
If we change how we collect or use information, we will update this page and note the change here. Any significant changes will be reflected on this page.
