بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ

الٓمٓصٓ alif-lam-meem-sad Alif Laam Meem Saad
alif-lam-meem-sad
Alif-Lãm-Mĩm-Ṣãd.
كِتَٰبٌ kitābun (This is) a Book أُنزِلَ unzila revealed إِلَيۡكَ ilayka to you فَلَا falā so (let) not يَكُن yakun be فِي fī in صَدۡرِكَ ṣadrika your breast حَرَجٞ ḥarajun any uneasiness مِّنۡهُ min'hu from it لِتُنذِرَ litundhira that you warn بِهِۦ bihi with it وَذِكۡرَىٰ wadhik'rā and a reminder لِلۡمُؤۡمِنِينَ lil'mu'minīna for the believers
kitābun unzila ilayka falā yakun fī ṣadrika ḥarajun min'hu litundhira bihi wadhik'rā lil'mu'minīna
˹This is˺ a Book sent down to you ˹O Prophet˺—do not let anxiety into your heart regarding it—so with it you may warn ˹the disbelievers˺, and as a reminder to the believers.
ٱتَّبِعُواْ ittabiʿū Follow مَآ mā what أُنزِلَ unzila has been revealed إِلَيۡكُم ilaykum to you مِّن min from رَّبِّكُمۡ rabbikum your Lord وَلَا walā and (do) not تَتَّبِعُواْ tattabiʿū follow مِن min from دُونِهِۦٓ dūnihi beside Him أَوۡلِيَآءَۗ awliyāa any allies قَلِيلٗا qalīlan Little مَّا mā (is) what تَذَكَّرُونَ tadhakkarūna you remember
ittabiʿū mā unzila ilaykum min rabbikum walā tattabiʿū min dūnihi awliyāa qalīlan mā tadhakkarūna
Follow what has been sent down to you from your Lord, and do not take others as guardians besides Him. How seldom are you mindful!
وَكَم wakam And how many مِّن min of قَرۡيَةٍ qaryatin a city أَهۡلَكۡنَٰهَا ahlaknāhā We destroyed it فَجَآءَهَا fajāahā and came to it بَأۡسُنَا basunā Our punishment بَيَٰتًا bayātan (at) night أَوۡ aw or هُمۡ hum (while) they قَآئِلُونَ qāilūna were sleeping at noon
wakam min qaryatin ahlaknāhā fajāahā basunā bayātan aw hum qāilūna
˹Imagine˺ how many societies We have destroyed! Our torment took them by surprise ˹while sleeping˺ at night or midday.
فَمَا famā Then not كَانَ kāna was دَعۡوَىٰهُمۡ daʿwāhum their plea إِذۡ idh when جَآءَهُم jāahum came to them بَأۡسُنَآ basunā Our punishment إِلَّآ illā except أَن an that قَالُوٓاْ qālū they said إِنَّا innā Indeed, we كُنَّا kunnā were ظَٰلِمِينَ ẓālimīna wrongdoers
famā kāna daʿwāhum idh jāahum basunā illā an qālū innā kunnā ẓālimīna
Their only cry—when overwhelmed by Our torment—was, “We have indeed been wrongdoers.”
فَلَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّ falanasalanna Then surely We will question ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those (to) whom أُرۡسِلَ ur'sila were sent إِلَيۡهِمۡ ilayhim to them (Messengers) وَلَنَسۡـَٔلَنَّ walanasalanna and surely We will question ٱلۡمُرۡسَلِينَ l-mur'salīna the Messengers
falanasalanna alladhīna ur'sila ilayhim walanasalanna l-mur'salīna
We will surely question those who received messengers and We will question the messengers ˹themselves˺.
فَلَنَقُصَّنَّ falanaquṣṣanna Then surely We will narrate عَلَيۡهِم ʿalayhim to them بِعِلۡمٖۖ biʿil'min with knowledge وَمَا wamā and not كُنَّا kunnā were We غَآئِبِينَ ghāibīna absent
falanaquṣṣanna ʿalayhim biʿil'min wamā kunnā ghāibīna
Then We will give them a full account with sure knowledge—for We were never absent.
وَٱلۡوَزۡنُ wal-waznu And the weighing يَوۡمَئِذٍ yawma-idhin that day ٱلۡحَقُّۚ l-ḥaqu (will be) the truth فَمَن faman So whose ثَقُلَتۡ thaqulat (will be) heavy مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ mawāzīnuhu his scales فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ fa-ulāika then those هُمُ humu [they] ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ l-muf'liḥūna (will be) the successful ones
wal-waznu yawma-idhin l-ḥaqu faman thaqulat mawāzīnuhu fa-ulāika humu l-muf'liḥūna
The weighing on that Day will be just. As for those whose scale will be heavy ˹with good deeds˺, ˹only˺ they will be successful.
وَمَنۡ waman And (for) those خَفَّتۡ khaffat (will be) light مَوَٰزِينُهُۥ mawāzīnuhu his scales فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ fa-ulāika so those ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna (will be) the ones who خَسِرُوٓاْ khasirū lost أَنفُسَهُم anfusahum themselves بِمَا bimā because كَانُواْ kānū they were بِـَٔايَٰتِنَا biāyātinā to Our Verses يَظۡلِمُونَ yaẓlimūna (doing) injustice
waman khaffat mawāzīnuhu fa-ulāika alladhīna khasirū anfusahum bimā kānū biāyātinā yaẓlimūna
But those whose scale is light, they have doomed themselves for wrongfully denying Our signs.
وَلَقَدۡ walaqad And certainly مَكَّنَّٰكُمۡ makkannākum We established you فِي fī in ٱلۡأَرۡضِ l-arḍi the earth وَجَعَلۡنَا wajaʿalnā and We made لَكُمۡ lakum for you فِيهَا fīhā in it مَعَٰيِشَۗ maʿāyisha livelihood قَلِيلٗا qalīlan Little مَّا mā (is) what تَشۡكُرُونَ tashkurūna you (are) grateful
walaqad makkannākum fī l-arḍi wajaʿalnā lakum fīhā maʿāyisha qalīlan mā tashkurūna
We have indeed established you on earth and provided you with a means of livelihood. ˹Yet˺ you seldom give any thanks.
وَلَقَدۡ walaqad And certainly خَلَقۡنَٰكُمۡ khalaqnākum We created you ثُمَّ thumma then صَوَّرۡنَٰكُمۡ ṣawwarnākum We fashioned you ثُمَّ thumma Then قُلۡنَا qul'nā We said لِلۡمَلَٰٓئِكَةِ lil'malāikati to the Angels ٱسۡجُدُواْ us'judū Prostrate لِأٓدَمَ liādama to Adam فَسَجَدُوٓاْ fasajadū So they prostrated إِلَّآ illā except إِبۡلِيسَ ib'līsa Iblis لَمۡ lam Not يَكُن yakun he was مِّنَ mina of ٱلسَّٰجِدِينَ l-sājidīna those who prostrated
walaqad khalaqnākum thumma ṣawwarnākum thumma qul'nā lil'malāikati us'judū liādama fasajadū illā ib'līsa lam yakun mina l-sājidīna
Surely We created you, then shaped you, then said to the angels, “Prostrate before Adam,” so they all did—but not Iblîs, who refused to prostrate with the others.
قَالَ qāla (Allah) said مَا mā What مَنَعَكَ manaʿaka prevented you أَلَّا allā that not تَسۡجُدَ tasjuda you prostrate إِذۡ idh when أَمَرۡتُكَۖ amartuka I commanded you قَالَ qāla (Shaitaan) said أَنَا۠ anā I am خَيۡرٞ khayrun better مِّنۡهُ min'hu than him خَلَقۡتَنِي khalaqtanī You created me مِن min from نَّارٖ nārin fire وَخَلَقۡتَهُۥ wakhalaqtahu and You created him مِن min from طِينٖ ṭīnin clay
qāla mā manaʿaka allā tasjuda idh amartuka qāla anā khayrun min'hu khalaqtanī min nārin wakhalaqtahu min ṭīnin
Allah asked, “What prevented you from prostrating when I commanded you?” He replied, “I am better than he is: You created me from fire and him from clay.”
قَالَ qāla (Allah) said فَٱهۡبِطۡ fa-ih'biṭ Then go down مِنۡهَا min'hā from it فَمَا famā for not يَكُونُ yakūnu it is لَكَ laka for you أَن an that تَتَكَبَّرَ tatakabbara you be arrogant فِيهَا fīhā in it فَٱخۡرُجۡ fa-ukh'ruj So get out إِنَّكَ innaka indeed, you مِنَ mina (are) of ٱلصَّٰغِرِينَ l-ṣāghirīna the disgraced ones
qāla fa-ih'biṭ min'hā famā yakūnu laka an tatakabbara fīhā fa-ukh'ruj innaka mina l-ṣāghirīna
Allah said, “Then get down from Paradise! It is not for you to be arrogant here. So get out! You are truly one of the disgraced.”
قَالَ qāla (Shaitaan) said أَنظِرۡنِيٓ anẓir'nī Give me respite إِلَىٰ ilā till يَوۡمِ yawmi (the) Day يُبۡعَثُونَ yub'ʿathūna they are raised up
qāla anẓir'nī ilā yawmi yub'ʿathūna
He appealed, “Then delay my end until the Day of their resurrection.”
قَالَ qāla (Allah) said إِنَّكَ innaka Indeed, you مِنَ mina (are) of ٱلۡمُنظَرِينَ l-munẓarīna the ones given respite
qāla innaka mina l-munẓarīna
Allah said, “You are delayed ˹until the appointed Day˺.”
قَالَ qāla (Shaitaan) said فَبِمَآ fabimā Because أَغۡوَيۡتَنِي aghwaytanī You have sent me astray لَأَقۡعُدَنَّ la-aqʿudanna surely I will sit لَهُمۡ lahum for them صِرَٰطَكَ ṣirāṭaka (on) Your path ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ l-mus'taqīma the straight
qāla fabimā aghwaytanī la-aqʿudanna lahum ṣirāṭaka l-mus'taqīma
He said, “For leaving me to stray I will lie in ambush for them on Your Straight Path.
ثُمَّ thumma Then لَأٓتِيَنَّهُم laātiyannahum surely, I will come to them مِّنۢ min from بَيۡنِ bayni before أَيۡدِيهِمۡ aydīhim them وَمِنۡ wamin and from خَلۡفِهِمۡ khalfihim behind them وَعَنۡ waʿan and from أَيۡمَٰنِهِمۡ aymānihim their right وَعَن waʿan and from شَمَآئِلِهِمۡۖ shamāilihim their left وَلَا walā and not تَجِدُ tajidu You (will) find أَكۡثَرَهُمۡ aktharahum most of them شَٰكِرِينَ shākirīna grateful
thumma laātiyannahum min bayni aydīhim wamin khalfihim waʿan aymānihim waʿan shamāilihim walā tajidu aktharahum shākirīna
I will approach them from their front, their back, their right, their left, and then You will find most of them ungrateful.”
قَالَ qāla (Allah) said ٱخۡرُجۡ ukh'ruj Get out مِنۡهَا min'hā of it مَذۡءُومٗا madhūman disgraced مَّدۡحُورٗاۖ madḥūran and expelled لَّمَن laman Certainly, whoever تَبِعَكَ tabiʿaka follows you مِنۡهُمۡ min'hum among them لَأَمۡلَأَنَّ la-amla-anna surely, I will fill جَهَنَّمَ jahannama Hell مِنكُمۡ minkum with you أَجۡمَعِينَ ajmaʿīna all
qāla ukh'ruj min'hā madhūman madḥūran laman tabiʿaka min'hum la-amla-anna jahannama minkum ajmaʿīna
Allah said, “Get out of Paradise! You are disgraced and rejected! I will certainly fill up Hell with you and your followers all together.”
وَيَٰٓـَٔادَمُ wayāādamu And O Adam ٱسۡكُنۡ us'kun Dwell أَنتَ anta you وَزَوۡجُكَ wazawjuka and your wife ٱلۡجَنَّةَ l-janata (in) the Garden فَكُلَا fakulā and you both eat مِنۡ min from حَيۡثُ ḥaythu wherever شِئۡتُمَا shi'tumā you both wish وَلَا walā but (do) not تَقۡرَبَا taqrabā approach [both of you] هَٰذِهِ hādhihi this ٱلشَّجَرَةَ l-shajarata [the] tree فَتَكُونَا fatakūnā lest you both be مِنَ mina among ٱلظَّٰلِمِينَ l-ẓālimīna the wrongdoers
wayāādamu us'kun anta wazawjuka l-janata fakulā min ḥaythu shi'tumā walā taqrabā hādhihi l-shajarata fatakūnā mina l-ẓālimīna
˹Allah said,˺ “O Adam! Live with your wife in Paradise and eat from wherever you please, but do not approach this tree, or else you will be wrongdoers.”
فَوَسۡوَسَ fawaswasa Then whispered لَهُمَا lahumā to both of them ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ l-shayṭānu the Shaitaan لِيُبۡدِيَ liyub'diya to make apparent لَهُمَا lahumā to both of them مَا mā what وُۥرِيَ wūriya was concealed عَنۡهُمَا ʿanhumā from both of them مِن min of سَوۡءَٰتِهِمَا sawātihimā their shame وَقَالَ waqāla And he said مَا mā (Did) not نَهَىٰكُمَا nahākumā forbid you both رَبُّكُمَا rabbukumā your Lord عَنۡ ʿan from هَٰذِهِ hādhihi this ٱلشَّجَرَةِ l-shajarati [the] tree إِلَّآ illā except أَن an that تَكُونَا takūnā you two become مَلَكَيۡنِ malakayni Angels أَوۡ aw or تَكُونَا takūnā you two become مِنَ mina of ٱلۡخَٰلِدِينَ l-khālidīna the immortals
fawaswasa lahumā l-shayṭānu liyub'diya lahumā mā wūriya ʿanhumā min sawātihimā waqāla mā nahākumā rabbukumā ʿan hādhihi l-shajarati illā an takūnā malakayni aw takūnā mina l-khālidīna
Then Satan tempted them in order to expose what was hidden of their nakedness. He said, “Your Lord has forbidden this tree to you only to prevent you from becoming angels or immortals.”
وَقَاسَمَهُمَآ waqāsamahumā And he swore (to) both of them إِنِّي innī Indeed, I am لَكُمَا lakumā to both of you لَمِنَ lamina among ٱلنَّٰصِحِينَ l-nāṣiḥīna the sincere advisors
waqāsamahumā innī lakumā lamina l-nāṣiḥīna
And he swore to them, “I am truly your sincere advisor.”
فَدَلَّىٰهُمَا fadallāhumā So he made both of them fall بِغُرُورٖۚ bighurūrin by deception فَلَمَّا falammā Then when ذَاقَا dhāqā they both tasted ٱلشَّجَرَةَ l-shajarata the tree بَدَتۡ badat became apparent لَهُمَا lahumā to both of them سَوۡءَٰتُهُمَا sawātuhumā their shame وَطَفِقَا waṭafiqā and they began يَخۡصِفَانِ yakhṣifāni (to) fasten عَلَيۡهِمَا ʿalayhimā over themselves مِن min from وَرَقِ waraqi (the) leaves ٱلۡجَنَّةِۖ l-janati (of) the Garden وَنَادَىٰهُمَا wanādāhumā And called them both رَبُّهُمَآ rabbuhumā their Lord أَلَمۡ alam Did not أَنۡهَكُمَا anhakumā I forbid you both عَن ʿan from تِلۡكُمَا til'kumā this ٱلشَّجَرَةِ l-shajarati [the] tree وَأَقُل wa-aqul and [I] say لَّكُمَآ lakumā to both of you إِنَّ inna that ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنَ l-shayṭāna [the] Shaitaan لَكُمَا lakumā to both of you عَدُوّٞ ʿaduwwun (is) an enemy مُّبِينٞ mubīnun open
fadallāhumā bighurūrin falammā dhāqā l-shajarata badat lahumā sawātuhumā waṭafiqā yakhṣifāni ʿalayhimā min waraqi l-janati wanādāhumā rabbuhumā alam anhakumā ʿan til'kumā l-shajarati wa-aqul lakumā inna l-shayṭāna lakumā ʿaduwwun mubīnun
So he brought about their fall through deception. And when they tasted of the tree, their nakedness was exposed to them, prompting them to cover themselves with leaves from Paradise. Then their Lord called out to them, “Did I not forbid you from that tree and ˹did I not˺ tell you that Satan is your sworn enemy?”
قَالَا qālā Both of them said رَبَّنَا rabbanā Our Lord ظَلَمۡنَآ ẓalamnā we have wronged أَنفُسَنَا anfusanā ourselves وَإِن wa-in and if لَّمۡ lam not تَغۡفِرۡ taghfir You forgive لَنَا lanā [for] us وَتَرۡحَمۡنَا watarḥamnā and have mercy (on) us لَنَكُونَنَّ lanakūnanna surely, we will be مِنَ mina among ٱلۡخَٰسِرِينَ l-khāsirīna the losers
qālā rabbanā ẓalamnā anfusanā wa-in lam taghfir lanā watarḥamnā lanakūnanna mina l-khāsirīna
They replied, “Our Lord! We have wronged ourselves. If You do not forgive us and have mercy on us, we will certainly be losers.”
قَالَ qāla (Allah) said ٱهۡبِطُواْ ih'biṭū Get down بَعۡضُكُمۡ baʿḍukum some of you لِبَعۡضٍ libaʿḍin to some others عَدُوّٞۖ ʿaduwwun (as) enemy وَلَكُمۡ walakum And for you فِي fī in ٱلۡأَرۡضِ l-arḍi the earth مُسۡتَقَرّٞ mus'taqarrun (is) a dwelling place وَمَتَٰعٌ wamatāʿun and livelihood إِلَىٰ ilā for حِينٖ ḥīnin a time
qāla ih'biṭū baʿḍukum libaʿḍin ʿaduwwun walakum fī l-arḍi mus'taqarrun wamatāʿun ilā ḥīnin
Allah said, “Descend as enemies to each other. You will find in the earth a residence and provision for your appointed stay.”
قَالَ qāla He said فِيهَا fīhā In it تَحۡيَوۡنَ taḥyawna you will live وَفِيهَا wafīhā and in it تَمُوتُونَ tamūtūna you will die وَمِنۡهَا wamin'hā and from it تُخۡرَجُونَ tukh'rajūna you will be brought forth
qāla fīhā taḥyawna wafīhā tamūtūna wamin'hā tukh'rajūna
He added, “There you will live, there you will die, and from there you will be resurrected.”
يَٰبَنِيٓ yābanī O Children ءَادَمَ ādama (of) Adam قَدۡ qad Verily أَنزَلۡنَا anzalnā We have sent down عَلَيۡكُمۡ ʿalaykum to you لِبَاسٗا libāsan clothing يُوَٰرِي yuwārī it covers سَوۡءَٰتِكُمۡ sawātikum your shame وَرِيشٗاۖ warīshan and (as) an adornment وَلِبَاسُ walibāsu But the clothing ٱلتَّقۡوَىٰ l-taqwā (of) [the] righteousness ذَٰلِكَ dhālika that خَيۡرٞۚ khayrun (is) best ذَٰلِكَ dhālika That مِنۡ min (is) from ءَايَٰتِ āyāti (the) Signs ٱللَّهِ l-lahi (of) Allah لَعَلَّهُمۡ laʿallahum so that they may يَذَّكَّرُونَ yadhakkarūna remember
yābanī ādama qad anzalnā ʿalaykum libāsan yuwārī sawātikum warīshan walibāsu l-taqwā dhālika khayrun dhālika min āyāti l-lahi laʿallahum yadhakkarūna
O children of Adam! We have provided for you clothing to cover your nakedness and as an adornment. However, the best clothing is righteousness. This is one of Allah’s bounties, so perhaps you will be mindful.
يَٰبَنِيٓ yābanī O Children ءَادَمَ ādama (of) Adam لَا lā (Let) not يَفۡتِنَنَّكُمُ yaftinannakumu tempt you ٱلشَّيۡطَٰنُ l-shayṭānu [the] Shaitaan كَمَآ kamā as أَخۡرَجَ akhraja he drove out أَبَوَيۡكُم abawaykum your parents مِّنَ mina from ٱلۡجَنَّةِ l-janati Paradise يَنزِعُ yanziʿu stripping عَنۡهُمَا ʿanhumā from both of them لِبَاسَهُمَا libāsahumā their clothing لِيُرِيَهُمَا liyuriyahumā to show both of them سَوۡءَٰتِهِمَآۚ sawātihimā their shame إِنَّهُۥ innahu Indeed, he يَرَىٰكُمۡ yarākum sees you هُوَ huwa he وَقَبِيلُهُۥ waqabīluhu and his tribe مِنۡ min from حَيۡثُ ḥaythu where لَا lā not تَرَوۡنَهُمۡۗ tarawnahum you see them إِنَّا innā Indeed جَعَلۡنَا jaʿalnā We have made ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ l-shayāṭīna the devils أَوۡلِيَآءَ awliyāa friends لِلَّذِينَ lilladhīna of those who لَا lā (do) not يُؤۡمِنُونَ yu'minūna believe
yābanī ādama lā yaftinannakumu l-shayṭānu kamā akhraja abawaykum mina l-janati yanziʿu ʿanhumā libāsahumā liyuriyahumā sawātihimā innahu yarākum huwa waqabīluhu min ḥaythu lā tarawnahum innā jaʿalnā l-shayāṭīna awliyāa lilladhīna lā yu'minūna
O children of Adam! Do not let Satan deceive you as he tempted your parents out of Paradise and caused their cover to be removed in order to expose their nakedness. Surely he and his soldiers watch you from where you cannot see them. We have made the devils allies of those who disbelieve.
وَإِذَا wa-idhā And when فَعَلُواْ faʿalū they do فَٰحِشَةٗ fāḥishatan immorality قَالُواْ qālū they say وَجَدۡنَا wajadnā We found عَلَيۡهَآ ʿalayhā on it ءَابَآءَنَا ābāanā our forefathers وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu and Allah أَمَرَنَا amaranā (has) ordered us بِهَاۗ bihā of it قُلۡ qul Say إِنَّ inna Indeed ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah لَا lā (does) not يَأۡمُرُ yamuru order بِٱلۡفَحۡشَآءِۖ bil-faḥshāi immorality أَتَقُولُونَ ataqūlūna Do you say عَلَى ʿalā about ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah مَا mā what لَا lā not تَعۡلَمُونَ taʿlamūna you know
wa-idhā faʿalū fāḥishatan qālū wajadnā ʿalayhā ābāanā wal-lahu amaranā bihā qul inna l-laha lā yamuru bil-faḥshāi ataqūlūna ʿalā l-lahi mā lā taʿlamūna
Whenever they commit a shameful deed, they say, “We found our forefathers doing it and Allah has commanded us to do it.” Say, “No! Allah never commands what is shameful. How can you attribute to Allah what you do not know?”
قُلۡ qul Say أَمَرَ amara (Has been) ordered رَبِّي rabbī (by) my Lord بِٱلۡقِسۡطِۖ bil-qis'ṭi justice وَأَقِيمُواْ wa-aqīmū and set وُجُوهَكُمۡ wujūhakum your faces عِندَ ʿinda at كُلِّ kulli every مَسۡجِدٖ masjidin masjid وَٱدۡعُوهُ wa-id'ʿūhu and invoke Him مُخۡلِصِينَ mukh'liṣīna (being) sincere لَهُ lahu to Him ٱلدِّينَۚ l-dīna (in) the religion كَمَا kamā As بَدَأَكُمۡ bada-akum He originated you تَعُودُونَ taʿūdūna (so) will you return
qul amara rabbī bil-qis'ṭi wa-aqīmū wujūhakum ʿinda kulli masjidin wa-id'ʿūhu mukh'liṣīna lahu l-dīna kamā bada-akum taʿūdūna
Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “My Lord has commanded uprightness and dedication ˹to Him alone˺ in worship, calling upon Him with sincere devotion. Just as He first brought you into being, you will be brought to life again.”
فَرِيقًا farīqan A group هَدَىٰ hadā He guided وَفَرِيقًا wafarīqan and a group حَقَّ ḥaqqa deserved عَلَيۡهِمُ ʿalayhimu [on] they ٱلضَّلَٰلَةُۚ l-ḍalālatu the astraying إِنَّهُمُ innahumu Indeed, they ٱتَّخَذُواْ ittakhadhū take ٱلشَّيَٰطِينَ l-shayāṭīna the devils أَوۡلِيَآءَ awliyāa (as) allies مِن min from دُونِ dūni besides ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah وَيَحۡسَبُونَ wayaḥsabūna while they think أَنَّهُم annahum that they مُّهۡتَدُونَ muh'tadūna (are the) guided-ones
farīqan hadā wafarīqan ḥaqqa ʿalayhimu l-ḍalālatu innahumu ittakhadhū l-shayāṭīna awliyāa min dūni l-lahi wayaḥsabūna annahum muh'tadūna
He has guided some, while others are destined to stray. They have taken devils as their masters instead of Allah—thinking they are ˹rightly˺ guided.
