بِسْمِ اللَّهِ الرَّحْمَٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
Read Word by Word
يُسَبِّحُ yusabbiḥu Glorifies لِلَّهِ lillahi [to] Allah مَا mā whatever فِي fī (is) in ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti the heavens وَمَا wamā and whatever فِي fī (is) in ٱلۡأَرۡضِۖ l-arḍi the earth لَهُ lahu For Him ٱلۡمُلۡكُ l-mul'ku (is the) dominion وَلَهُ walahu and for Him ٱلۡحَمۡدُۖ l-ḥamdu (is) the praise وَهُوَ wahuwa And He عَلَىٰ ʿalā (is) on كُلِّ kulli every شَيۡءٖ shayin thing قَدِيرٌ qadīrun All-Powerful
yusabbiḥu lillahi mā fī l-samāwāti wamā fī l-arḍi lahu l-mul'ku walahu l-ḥamdu wahuwa ʿalā kulli shayin qadīrun
Whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth ˹constantly˺ glorifies Allah. The kingdom is His, and all praise is for Him. For He is Most Capable of everything.
هُوَ huwa He ٱلَّذِي alladhī (is) the One Who خَلَقَكُمۡ khalaqakum created you فَمِنكُمۡ faminkum and among you كَافِرٞ kāfirun (is) a disbeliever وَمِنكُم waminkum and among you مُّؤۡمِنٞۚ mu'minun (is) a believer وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah بِمَا bimā of what تَعۡمَلُونَ taʿmalūna you do بَصِيرٌ baṣīrun (is) All-Seer
huwa alladhī khalaqakum faminkum kāfirun waminkum mu'minun wal-lahu bimā taʿmalūna baṣīrun
He is the One Who created you, yet some of you are disbelievers while some are believers. And Allah is All-Seeing of what you do.
خَلَقَ khalaqa He created ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti the heavens وَٱلۡأَرۡضَ wal-arḍa and the earth بِٱلۡحَقِّ bil-ḥaqi with truth وَصَوَّرَكُمۡ waṣawwarakum and He formed you فَأَحۡسَنَ fa-aḥsana and made good صُوَرَكُمۡۖ ṣuwarakum your forms وَإِلَيۡهِ wa-ilayhi and to Him ٱلۡمَصِيرُ l-maṣīru (is) the final return
khalaqa l-samāwāti wal-arḍa bil-ḥaqi waṣawwarakum fa-aḥsana ṣuwarakum wa-ilayhi l-maṣīru
He created the heavens and the earth for a purpose. He shaped you ˹in the womb˺, perfecting your form. And to Him is the final return.
يَعۡلَمُ yaʿlamu He knows مَا mā what فِي fī (is) in ٱلسَّمَٰوَٰتِ l-samāwāti the heavens وَٱلۡأَرۡضِ wal-arḍi and the earth وَيَعۡلَمُ wayaʿlamu and He knows مَا mā what تُسِرُّونَ tusirrūna you conceal وَمَا wamā and what تُعۡلِنُونَۚ tuʿ'linūna you declare وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah عَلِيمُۢ ʿalīmun (is) All-Knowing بِذَاتِ bidhāti of what ٱلصُّدُورِ l-ṣudūri (is in) the breasts
yaʿlamu mā fī l-samāwāti wal-arḍi wayaʿlamu mā tusirrūna wamā tuʿ'linūna wal-lahu ʿalīmun bidhāti l-ṣudūri
He knows whatever is in the heavens and the earth. And He knows whatever you conceal and whatever you reveal. For Allah knows best what is ˹hidden˺ in the heart.
أَلَمۡ alam Has not يَأۡتِكُمۡ yatikum come to you نَبَؤُاْ naba-u (the) news ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna (of) those who كَفَرُواْ kafarū disbelieved مِن min from قَبۡلُ qablu before فَذَاقُواْ fadhāqū So they tasted وَبَالَ wabāla (the bad) consequence أَمۡرِهِمۡ amrihim (of) their affair وَلَهُمۡ walahum and for them عَذَابٌ ʿadhābun (is) a punishment أَلِيمٞ alīmun painful
alam yatikum naba-u alladhīna kafarū min qablu fadhāqū wabāla amrihim walahum ʿadhābun alīmun
Have the stories of those who disbelieved before not reached you ˹pagans˺? They tasted the evil consequences of their doings, and they will suffer a painful punishment.
ذَٰلِكَ dhālika That بِأَنَّهُۥ bi-annahu (is) because كَانَت kānat had تَّأۡتِيهِمۡ tatīhim come to them رُسُلُهُم rusuluhum their Messengers بِٱلۡبَيِّنَٰتِ bil-bayināti with clear proofs فَقَالُوٓاْ faqālū but they said أَبَشَرٞ abasharun Shall human beings يَهۡدُونَنَا yahdūnanā guide us فَكَفَرُواْ fakafarū So they disbelieved وَتَوَلَّواْۖ watawallaw and turned away وَّٱسۡتَغۡنَى wa-is'taghnā And can do without them ٱللَّهُۚ l-lahu Allah وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah غَنِيٌّ ghaniyyun (is) Self-sufficient حَمِيدٞ ḥamīdun Praiseworthy
dhālika bi-annahu kānat tatīhim rusuluhum bil-bayināti faqālū abasharun yahdūnanā fakafarū watawallaw wa-is'taghnā l-lahu wal-lahu ghaniyyun ḥamīdun
That was because their messengers used to come to them with clear proofs, but they said ˹mockingly˺, “How can humans be our guides?” So they persisted in disbelief and turned away. And Allah was not in need ˹of their faith˺. For Allah is Self-Sufficient, Praiseworthy.
زَعَمَ zaʿama Claim ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna those who كَفَرُوٓاْ kafarū disbelieve أَن an that لَّن lan never يُبۡعَثُواْۚ yub'ʿathū will they be raised قُلۡ qul Say بَلَىٰ balā Yes وَرَبِّي warabbī by my Lord لَتُبۡعَثُنَّ latub'ʿathunna surely you will be raised ثُمَّ thumma then لَتُنَبَّؤُنَّ latunabba-unna surely you will be informed بِمَا bimā of what عَمِلۡتُمۡۚ ʿamil'tum you did وَذَٰلِكَ wadhālika And that عَلَى ʿalā for ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah يَسِيرٞ yasīrun (is) easy
zaʿama alladhīna kafarū an lan yub'ʿathū qul balā warabbī latub'ʿathunna thumma latunabba-unna bimā ʿamil'tum wadhālika ʿalā l-lahi yasīrun
The disbelievers claim they will not be resurrected. Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “Yes, by my Lord, you will surely be resurrected, then you will certainly be informed of what you have done. And that is easy for Allah.”
فَـَٔامِنُواْ faāminū So believe بِٱللَّهِ bil-lahi in Allah وَرَسُولِهِۦ warasūlihi and His Messenger وَٱلنُّورِ wal-nūri and the Light ٱلَّذِيٓ alladhī which أَنزَلۡنَاۚ anzalnā We have sent down وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah بِمَا bimā of what تَعۡمَلُونَ taʿmalūna you do خَبِيرٞ khabīrun (is) All-Aware
faāminū bil-lahi warasūlihi wal-nūri alladhī anzalnā wal-lahu bimā taʿmalūna khabīrun
So believe in Allah and His Messenger and in the Light We have revealed. And Allah is All-Aware of what you do.
يَوۡمَ yawma (The) Day يَجۡمَعُكُمۡ yajmaʿukum He will assemble you لِيَوۡمِ liyawmi for (the) Day ٱلۡجَمۡعِۖ l-jamʿi (of) the Assembly ذَٰلِكَ dhālika that يَوۡمُ yawmu (will be the) Day ٱلتَّغَابُنِۗ l-taghābuni (of) mutual loss and gain وَمَن waman And whoever يُؤۡمِنۢ yu'min believes بِٱللَّهِ bil-lahi in Allah وَيَعۡمَلۡ wayaʿmal and does صَٰلِحٗا ṣāliḥan righteous deeds يُكَفِّرۡ yukaffir He will remove عَنۡهُ ʿanhu from him سَيِّـَٔاتِهِۦ sayyiātihi his evil deeds وَيُدۡخِلۡهُ wayud'khil'hu and He will admit him جَنَّٰتٖ jannātin (to) Gardens تَجۡرِي tajrī flow مِن min from تَحۡتِهَا taḥtihā underneath it ٱلۡأَنۡهَٰرُ l-anhāru the rivers خَٰلِدِينَ khālidīna abiding فِيهَآ fīhā therein أَبَدٗاۚ abadan forever ذَٰلِكَ dhālika That ٱلۡفَوۡزُ l-fawzu (is) the success ٱلۡعَظِيمُ l-ʿaẓīmu the great
yawma yajmaʿukum liyawmi l-jamʿi dhālika yawmu l-taghābuni waman yu'min bil-lahi wayaʿmal ṣāliḥan yukaffir ʿanhu sayyiātihi wayud'khil'hu jannātin tajrī min taḥtihā l-anhāru khālidīna fīhā abadan dhālika l-fawzu l-ʿaẓīmu
˹Consider˺ the Day He will gather you ˹all˺ for the Day of Gathering—that will be the Day of mutual loss and gain. So whoever believes in Allah and does good, He will absolve them of their sins and admit them into Gardens under which rivers flow, to stay there for ever and ever. That is the ultimate triumph.
وَٱلَّذِينَ wa-alladhīna But those who كَفَرُواْ kafarū disbelieved وَكَذَّبُواْ wakadhabū and denied بِـَٔايَٰتِنَآ biāyātinā [in] Our Verses أُوْلَٰٓئِكَ ulāika those أَصۡحَٰبُ aṣḥābu (are the) companions ٱلنَّارِ l-nāri (of) the Fire خَٰلِدِينَ khālidīna abiding forever فِيهَاۖ fīhā therein وَبِئۡسَ wabi'sa And wretched is ٱلۡمَصِيرُ l-maṣīru the destination
wa-alladhīna kafarū wakadhabū biāyātinā ulāika aṣḥābu l-nāri khālidīna fīhā wabi'sa l-maṣīru
As for those who disbelieve and reject Our revelations, they will be the residents of the Fire, staying there forever. What an evil destination!
مَآ mā Not أَصَابَ aṣāba strikes مِن min any مُّصِيبَةٍ muṣībatin disaster إِلَّا illā except بِإِذۡنِ bi-idh'ni by (the) permission ٱللَّهِۗ l-lahi (of) Allah وَمَن waman And whoever يُؤۡمِنۢ yu'min believes بِٱللَّهِ bil-lahi in Allah يَهۡدِ yahdi He guides قَلۡبَهُۥۚ qalbahu his heart وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah بِكُلِّ bikulli of every شَيۡءٍ shayin thing عَلِيمٞ ʿalīmun (is) All-Knowing
mā aṣāba min muṣībatin illā bi-idh'ni l-lahi waman yu'min bil-lahi yahdi qalbahu wal-lahu bikulli shayin ʿalīmun
No calamity befalls ˹anyone˺ except by Allah’s Will. And whoever has faith in Allah, He will ˹rightly˺ guide their hearts ˹through adversity˺. And Allah has ˹perfect˺ knowledge of all things.
وَأَطِيعُواْ wa-aṭīʿū So obey ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah وَأَطِيعُواْ wa-aṭīʿū and obey ٱلرَّسُولَۚ l-rasūla the Messenger فَإِن fa-in but if تَوَلَّيۡتُمۡ tawallaytum you turn away فَإِنَّمَا fa-innamā then only عَلَىٰ ʿalā upon رَسُولِنَا rasūlinā Our Messenger ٱلۡبَلَٰغُ l-balāghu (is) the conveyance ٱلۡمُبِينُ l-mubīnu clear
wa-aṭīʿū l-laha wa-aṭīʿū l-rasūla fa-in tawallaytum fa-innamā ʿalā rasūlinā l-balāghu l-mubīnu
Obey Allah and obey the Messenger! But if you turn away, then Our Messenger’s duty is only to deliver ˹the message˺ clearly.
ٱللَّهُ al-lahu Allah لَآ lā (there is) no إِلَٰهَ ilāha god إِلَّا illā except هُوَۚ huwa Him وَعَلَى waʿalā And upon ٱللَّهِ l-lahi Allah فَلۡيَتَوَكَّلِ falyatawakkali let put (their) trust ٱلۡمُؤۡمِنُونَ l-mu'minūna the believers
al-lahu lā ilāha illā huwa waʿalā l-lahi falyatawakkali l-mu'minūna
Allah—there is no god ˹worthy of worship˺ except Him. So in Allah let the believers put their trust.
يَٰٓأَيُّهَا yāayyuhā O ٱلَّذِينَ alladhīna (you) who ءَامَنُوٓاْ āmanū believe إِنَّ inna Indeed مِنۡ min from أَزۡوَٰجِكُمۡ azwājikum your spouses وَأَوۡلَٰدِكُمۡ wa-awlādikum and your children عَدُوّٗا ʿaduwwan (are) enemies لَّكُمۡ lakum to you فَٱحۡذَرُوهُمۡۚ fa-iḥ'dharūhum so beware of them وَإِن wa-in But if تَعۡفُواْ taʿfū you pardon وَتَصۡفَحُواْ wataṣfaḥū and overlook وَتَغۡفِرُواْ wataghfirū and forgive فَإِنَّ fa-inna then indeed ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah غَفُورٞ ghafūrun (is) Oft-Forgiving رَّحِيمٌ raḥīmun Most Merciful
yāayyuhā alladhīna āmanū inna min azwājikum wa-awlādikum ʿaduwwan lakum fa-iḥ'dharūhum wa-in taʿfū wataṣfaḥū wataghfirū fa-inna l-laha ghafūrun raḥīmun
O believers! Indeed, some of your spouses and children are enemies to you, so beware of them. But if you pardon, overlook, and forgive ˹their faults˺, then Allah is truly All-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
إِنَّمَآ innamā Only أَمۡوَٰلُكُمۡ amwālukum your wealth وَأَوۡلَٰدُكُمۡ wa-awlādukum and your children فِتۡنَةٞۚ fit'natun (are) a trial وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu and Allah عِندَهُۥٓ ʿindahu with Him أَجۡرٌ ajrun (is) a reward عَظِيمٞ ʿaẓīmun great
innamā amwālukum wa-awlādukum fit'natun wal-lahu ʿindahu ajrun ʿaẓīmun
Your wealth and children are only a test, but Allah ˹alone˺ has a great reward.
فَٱتَّقُواْ fa-ittaqū So fear ٱللَّهَ l-laha Allah مَا mā what ٱسۡتَطَعۡتُمۡ is'taṭaʿtum you are able وَٱسۡمَعُواْ wa-is'maʿū and listen وَأَطِيعُواْ wa-aṭīʿū and obey وَأَنفِقُواْ wa-anfiqū and spend خَيۡرٗا khayran (it is) better لِّأَنفُسِكُمۡۗ li-anfusikum for yourselves وَمَن waman And whoever يُوقَ yūqa is saved شُحَّ shuḥḥa (from the) greediness نَفۡسِهِۦ nafsihi (of) his soul فَأُوْلَٰٓئِكَ fa-ulāika then those هُمُ humu [they] ٱلۡمُفۡلِحُونَ l-muf'liḥūna (are) the successful ones
fa-ittaqū l-laha mā is'taṭaʿtum wa-is'maʿū wa-aṭīʿū wa-anfiqū khayran li-anfusikum waman yūqa shuḥḥa nafsihi fa-ulāika humu l-muf'liḥūna
So be mindful of Allah to the best of your ability, hear and obey, and spend in charity—that will be best for you. And whoever is saved from the selfishness of their own souls, it is they who are ˹truly˺ successful.
إِن in If تُقۡرِضُواْ tuq'riḍū you loan ٱللَّهَ l-laha (to) Allah قَرۡضًا qarḍan a loan حَسَنٗا ḥasanan goodly يُضَٰعِفۡهُ yuḍāʿif'hu He will multiply it لَكُمۡ lakum for you وَيَغۡفِرۡ wayaghfir and will forgive لَكُمۡۚ lakum you وَٱللَّهُ wal-lahu And Allah شَكُورٌ shakūrun (is) Most Appreciative حَلِيمٌ ḥalīmun Most Forbearing
in tuq'riḍū l-laha qarḍan ḥasanan yuḍāʿif'hu lakum wayaghfir lakum wal-lahu shakūrun ḥalīmun
If you lend to Allah a good loan, He will multiply it for you and forgive you. For Allah is Most Appreciative, Most Forbearing.
عَٰلِمُ ʿālimu (The) Knower ٱلۡغَيۡبِ l-ghaybi (of) the unseen وَٱلشَّهَٰدَةِ wal-shahādati and the witnessed ٱلۡعَزِيزُ l-ʿazīzu the All-Mighty ٱلۡحَكِيمُ l-ḥakīmu the All-Wise
ʿālimu l-ghaybi wal-shahādati l-ʿazīzu l-ḥakīmu
˹He is the˺ Knower of the seen and unseen—the Almighty, All-Wise.
